The Sleigh

The design for Epnos' Sleigh bed was inspired by the elegant neoclassical styles of the nineteenth century. The Sleigh would be at home in the Tegency interiors of a Jane Austin novel; it would perfectly become the Beidermeier furnished domiciles of Vienna's Waltz dancing society; this elegant 'petite lit' gallantly embodies the poise of the Empire stlye that flourished in Madame Recamier's Paris. The characteristic revival of the forms and motifs of classical antiquity is here expressed in the gracefully curved sideboards, resembling those of Roman couches. The drawer-fitted platform is flanked by twenty-four karat gilt bronze palmettes. Both bed and corona are crafted of solid mahogany with a walnut finish; a fitted back panel is also available should one desire it. Three plush pillows and flowing drapes have been designed especially in a selection of the finest and loveliest woven silkes and velvets. The Sleigh is an ideal choice for anyone who admires the noble simplicity of the neoclassical era.
